The next featured company in the We Manufacture CLE series, WARDJet Inc., is headquartered in Tallmadge, Ohio. This manufacturer recently celebrated their 20th anniversary and stands out in our region as a local company making a global impact.
WARDJet manufactures high pressure waterjet cutting systems, which are designed, built, and supported by Northeast Ohioans each and everyday. WARDJet continuously contributes to make our region grow and prosper in terms of employment and manufactured products that are made with the waterjet systems.
WARDJet sources local goods for their waterjets as often as possible, hires local talent from schools like University of Akron, Kent State and Stark State, and works with a range of businesses from smaller shops to billion dollar companies. From cutting pipe at USF in Twinsburg, to large sheets of material in American Tank & Fabricating in Cleveland, to cutting the plates for the 9/11 Memorial in NYC, WARDJet waterjets are used in a variety of industries.
WARDJet also helped fabricate the incredible memorial sculpture at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Transit Center on Prospect Avenue on Cleveland State University's campus. This sculpture is made of many layers of stainless steel plates and is five feet tall. Check out the installation through the video and images below:
The video below showcases WARDJet's unique story and talks about the many contributions made to the Cleveland area. WARDJet's Business Development Manager, Jason Stuffel, mentioned how it is "shockingly easy to build here in Cleveland because suppliers are plentiful."
"Water jet happens a lot behind the scenes and you may not realize it. One of our customers actually cuts and manufacturers a lot of the gorilla glass that is on the cell phone in your pocket!"
